Toasted, Baked, Burnt~

the last we had our religious desa park city visits was last year... before we moved to our new house... since then, noodles and starbucks had been grounded at their new home ground... well, not exactly grounded per se... before the arrival of moo-cow, noodles and starbucks had their almost daily walks around the housing area... sniffing at the tar road, barking at the cats, making new friends with unknown free roaming poodle...

then moo-cow joined the household... we had to quarantine her till her last vaccination... or more like both of us had our time stolen right from under our nose... although they didnt get to explore outside our house, they still had their fun time when mr guiness came visiting almost every sunday... the porch tuned into their playground... when weather became too hot, the living room was transformed into their merry-go-round...

couple of months ago, i submitted a photo of noodles and starbucks for probalance's valentine competition... it wasnt my intention to win... but more of a support to them, since their active cooperation to charity after my approach for their assistance... plus point, my babes love the food (it was unfortunate that starbucks had allergic reaction to their beef products - so now, chicken all the way)... and voila~ they had won the consolation prize... 50 bucks worth of probalance dog food...

fast forward to current timeline, i was informed to collect the prize at the doggywood event yesterday... frankly, i was excited for that event... firstly, it will be moo-cow's debutante event to the big, bad world out of the comfort of her home... previously, she had been a retard with leashes... refusing to walk, had to be dragged... so i'm really excited to expose her to the public to see how she would react... and to teach her how to socialize with the rest of the doggy world... and secondly, i'm really thrilled that i'm getting the prize... i was running out of chicken kibbles for the gals...

we got ready and by 2pm, we had buddled the mutts into the car... so off we go for a long ride to desa park city... pukey the dog came back visiting... sigh, and this time it was both noodles and moo-cow... and starbucks being starbucks, she decided to be the cleaning crew... urrrggghhhh~

as we reached there, we had to slowly coax moo-cow to walk with the leash... the first few minutes out of the car was a real retard moment... she went idolizing at the grass like she found gold... technically, it was her first time seeing, smelling and feeling grass... after awhile, she bucked up and did good... walking as we tucked her leash... i supposed, a couple more times and she'd be doing great!

reaching the event area, i registered for us and proceeded to collect our prize from probalance... *self reminder* dog food ARE heavy!!! one 3.5kg kibbles and four 700gm wet food... really, do not attempt a 6kg weight with a hyper dog next to you... as the weather was scorching hot, we decided to hide at the VID area and get some water for the dogs... supposedly an invitation only area with free flow of treats and water for the dogs... *eyes rolling* what treats??? what water??? there's only empty container without water... and chairs for the humans... luckily there was a fan running at the tent... just as we planted our butts and got comfortable with the cool artificial breeze, his number was called for a lucky draw... woot~ another 3kg of anf dog food for the babes...

with two heavy loads of dog food on hand and 3 monsters to handle, we decided to head back to the car for storage... as we got back to the event (after some lugging of dog and dog food to the car park), we were given two trial packs of home cooked treats for the dogs... ok, some consolation for the false advertisement of the event... unfortunately, two of my babes didnt like them... as minutes ticked by, the event was getting lame and boring...

we decided it was time to walk the dogs and hopefully can meet their old friends at their usual rendezvous... well, bruce and chester were there... too bad giant wasnt around with his goldens...

half hour after letting moo-cow got used to the field, i started unleashing starbucks... ahhh, my favorite gal... she just followed me everywhere and regardless how she ran off, she'd come back to where we sat... then i tried noodles... i was a bit wary of her... noodles had more tendency to run off with other dogs... but, she was all good... she ran around, enjoying the grass on her paws and the breeze in her face... my proudest moment was she came running back when called...

thereafter, i convinced myself that i should trust moo-cow... she took her time to enjoy her temporary freedom, showed some trust issues when strange dogs and humans approached to pat her... most of the time she was afraid, she came running back to us... but all in, she really made us proud... as mentioned earlier, a couple more times... and she'll be excelling in this...

results for the family outing:
  • three happy, docile monsters
apparently, they were so tired, they slept through the night and only woke up when he got up about 11-ish am...
  • burned human parents
both of us had heat retention, i was feeling cold as though i caught a fever last night... he, ko-ed and slept in two hours past his alarm time...
