October Celebrations

"Your birthday is a special time to celebrate the gift of 'you' to the world."

and along those lines, he had never failed to remind me that he should send a thank you card to my mom... thanking her for bringing me into this world... and then into his life... yet annually, he'd be so preoccupied planning for my birthday celebration he'd forget about the thank you card...

although he had always loved parties and throwing huge events to celebrate life, i'd requested for a quiet celebration just the two of us... a private, yet meaningful together moments... hanging out and spending quality time with each other... especially so when the beginning of october this year also marks our first anniversary (one of the few anniversaries, anyway) of bringing the yeohs and boeys together as one family...

although i said quiet celebration, he didnt go down without a fight for a party... with a whole weekend that extended to the monday after, he made sure i had some sort of a celebration every single day... at the lengths of how the whole thing came together, this is by far the most touching birthday i'd had... it may not be the grandest, but it is by far the most meaningful one...

• surprise dinner, with the most effort put in by IK and YM... cooking the beef stew, baking my birthday cake, buying us the roast duck...

• my dream come true present... seeing him with a ribbon around his neck, presenting himself as my present of the day... and then bucky quietly accommodating, also with a ribbon around her neck...

• receiving a lovely cake, delivered by someone dear to me... the mommy WL, all the way from pg...

• snuggling up in a recliner in the platinum suites for a movie...

• stuffing myself silly with my favourite nz natural...

• enjoying a really amazing british dinner...

• given my favourite lazy dog as a present from a colleague...

• and a silver necklace from my boss...

thinking of it all, it still put a smile to my heart... and i cant thank all of you enough for having me in your life... especially so, my dear hubby, IK, YM and WL...

and after all this, there will be more celebrations to come... i'm still deciding how should i celebrate noodles' second birthday... and i cant wait to go back pg to celebrate dad's birthday (going back to pg in time for his birthday for the first time)... and most importantly, danny's big day...
