Weekend of Food

i have not had a food galore exercise for my tummy in ages... these days, it's been a lunch on the go for me... it's either i'm working through lunch or i'm running events that cuts right through my lunch time... and by the time i'm home after work, i'll be just too lazy to grab myself any proper dinner...

and then, out of the blue... we went on a food feasting spree last weekend in malacca with IK and YM... poor babes gotta be put on boarding for a night... my own assumptions, didnt think the babes really like it there... they have been sticking to me like glue since we brought them back last sunday...

saturday, 6.30 am
woke up to get ourselves and the babes ready for the trip... by the time we were done bathing, feeding the kids and playing with them... it was two hours past...

8.30 am
he was complaining hungry... yet to start our journey, and we were already eating... lol~ pan mee for me and curry noodles for him...

9.30 am
staring at IK and YM's car, waiting for their guinness to be ready... the little tyke decided to poop just as they were coming out... so off i went, walking the babes while waiting for our ride to malacca town...

10.00 am
finally... it was time to start out journey... but first stop, pet boarding...

just as we were halfway at the highway, IK and YM said they needed breakfast... i was pretty groggy... didnt know where we stopped as i slept through the journey... again, he was hungry... now, that's meal #2 for him... and we had not even stepped into our destination...

12.30 pm
ahhhh... stretched! stretched! stretched! i checked us in to our expensive yet tiny room... immediately after, we started off to jonker street... yada yada yada, we loved the chicky rice balls!!! note to self though, no assam fish with them... just leave rice balls expert as rice balls meal...

2.00 pm
having filled out tummy with rice balls werent enough... we decided for porky satay straight away... google map shows walking distance... so we walked... half hour detour, and still no sign of shop... garmin didnt helped either... took us into bigger round... dammit!!! finally, after a LONG walk in the sun, dehydrated and hot... we managed to sit our butts in the porky satay shop... *face palm* we looked straight ahead from the shop, it was walking distance from jonker... damn construction site was blocking our view and we missed the back lane to the shop...

3.30 pm
IK and YM's chendol shop had closed... so we went to another shop... on the way there, we found freshly cooked onde onde... here i was thinking, yeah so what's so great about it... he insisted he wanted... we bought a small packet... each one miserable onde onde... wham! then the taste hit us... it was GOOD!!! 2 more packets after that...

not that great anymore, but we were freaking dehydrated from all our walk... anything that melts in our mouth sounded a good idea...

4.15 pm
he needed his tempe fixed in geographer... nom nom nom... after rice balls, loads of porky satay and chendol... i was stuffed... but tempe was a m...u...s...t... gulp, swallowed!

while walking to geographer, did i mention we had a fix of the nonya dumpling??? YM was drooling over it... another must to buy, and we did...

5.45 pm
satay celup was the next destination... luckily we were early... we got ourselves a table just as soon as we got there... yeah, i did mention i was stuffed... yet, i couldnt resists the aroma of the peanut sauce... so more sticks into my tummy, more celup celup... this time, we ate slower... and took our own sweet time to the next food junction...

7.30 pm
we missed the sunset in ujong pasir... yup, how was it possible to be in malacca and miss my favorite mango juice... seriously, i think i had 3 cups of serving that night... yeah, i know... while complaining i was full to the brink, i gulped down the drinks...

skipping rice, we still managed to squeeze in butter, garlic scallops, portuguese styled stingray and baked clams... i hit my max there and then...

sunday, 10.00 am
woke up to flat screen TV in my face... hmmm... i had a super long shower that morning... it's been awhile since i enjoyed a really hot bath... oh, home heather kinda spoilt for couple of months now... decided not to repair or get a new one since we'll be moving to our new house next month...

IK and YM would not leave the state unless we had their favorite chendol... thinking to myself, i should get something light... overeating aint gonna help me... so taukua rojak for me... then i saw assam fish... yum yum, drooling... ordered that too... oh no!!! what happen to eating light??? but it was SOOOOOO worth it...

nadeje was the next stop... ordered the rum and raisin's... pros: it was pretty good... eggy taste which i happened to like... cons: where was the rum and raisin flavor??? hmmmmmm...

stuck in dataran pahlawan... didnt realize that parking ticket is required even on sundays... ahhhh, so gotta make a stop to settle the compound... oh well... but it did buy me time to get him a christmas present...

snooze time in the car for me... blink dream blink dream... hey we had reached KL!!!

got our babes back... it was a good feeling to see and cuddle them... even if it's only a night away... i missed them...

since we stopped by sea park at the vet for guinness, we took a turn for duck rice... slightly pricey, but good stuff... really good stuff...........

as of today, i'm still recovering from food "overdose"??? and hubby said there'll be more surprise the next few days... woohooo!!! and the weekend is starting in half an hour's time... half day off, declared by the firm... annual dinner tonight, then palate palate.... and more to come........................ ahhhhhh i love my hubby...
