The Winning Story

a week ago, i submitted (on his behalf) our story to fly fm for their "love stories with parkson" valentine's competition... according to the competition details, two consolation winners will be announced on a daily basis beginning feb 20th and one grand prize winner to be announced on the fifth day...

what a surprise when he was woken up early by the pagi rock crew on the first day itself... here's the story that was adapted from his original post in his blog...
12 years ago, the woman I loved had left me to find her own way. Since then, I had always been thinking about her. On and off for 10 years I had tried looking for her but couldn't. This was hampered even more by me changing my phone number all the time.

As luck would have it, it would seem she had me at the back of her mind too all this time. But she couldn't contact me because I had changed my number one too many times.

Some years back, as I was working in AVG, I had made a final search for her through Skype as my work required me to have a Skype account for internal communication. i had told myself that I would never look for her again if I failed.

Lo and behold, I had found someone with a similar name. I added her and said hi but she never replied, I gave up and just left it there. A couple of days later, she replied. And it was her.

Not long after we met up. The strange thing was, when she was on the way to look for me, she got lost but didn't tell me what she was driving. I saw a Myvi pass my office and instantly asked over the phone if that was her car… we were both shocked.

We went for a "date" near the office due to my short leash (I was being tracked… don't ask) and had McDonalds and a walk at Amcorp Mall. We looked at books, went browsing around and I was all fluttery… I have never been so nervous around a girl ever… but when I was with her, it felt like I have never dated anyone before and this is my first time. I liked the feeling.

There was a point where we were walking at the grocery section, she turned around and faced me… I was having a war with myself to decide if I should kiss her or not. Despite my own philosophy, I decided to go slow (yea right) and I didn't know where we stood then.

In the car I wanted to hold her hand so badly while I was talking to her and asked her if I put my hand on her knee how would she react. I was safe…

Not long after, I asked her to be my girl. She said yes. This was on the 13th of Feb. and from then on, we try our very best (except this year) to go back to Amcorp Mall to have McDonalds and browse around the mall.

A year later we got married. And even though we got married, we still celebrate this day.
ohhhhh... i cant wait to get my hands on the prize... >.<
