Crash!!!

ever since AL started his new job, he had been diligently working 24/7... he used to complain a whole long list on my working style previously, yet he is practicing it now... hmmm, let's see... working late without being paid OT, not picking up his calls or replying his messages immediately during working hours, often not at the workstation, getting stuck in meetings most of the time, working on things out of the job description, bla bla bla... whoa~ he's a grown man now... hahahhaha

barely two months into his new job, he decided to take time off from his emails on a sunday and went for a ride... deciding to go against his own advices, he went ahead and do laps at the bike lane of kesas highway... slightly after an hour after he left the house, i got a call from him... immediately i knew something was up... he dont call when he's riding, especially not when i know where he is or when i should be expecting him home... two words: "i crashed"...

even before i picked up his call, i'd started putting the babes back into their pen and cages... got a change of clothes and sped out looking for him... clothes torn, safety boots shaved off where the toes supposed to be, scratched up helmet and a crashed bike lying at the side of the road facing the opposite direction...

as soon as his friend arrived at the scene to help, i drove him off to the hospital... thinking it will only take a few hours for a thorough check, ended up with him being hospitalized for two nights... sadly, he was not working with WHO... otherwise his medical bill amounting to a whole month's worth of salary would have been taken care of... his new company does not provide any hospitalization insurance... neither was he able to get a medical insurance due to his medical history... (though, if only i'd found out about personal accident coverage... which most seemed to not wanna promote... supposed, commission is very low on this...)

the results from the accident: fractured wrist, hand in cast for a minimum of 6 weeks, sprained swollen ankle, flesh wounds on the tummy and back, huge hole on this shin, bruises errr everywhere... and a hospitalized bike... currently, we're down to only my car for transportation... counting my blessing, at least dropping him off to work does not require me to detour too far en route to work... though, it had been extremely tiring for me... with him temporarily handicapped, i had and still have to manage the whole house and the ever energetic babes by my lonesome self... and then taking care of the sick boy...

hopefully, within the next follow up visit to the specialist, i'd get some good news that his bone is healing nicely... otherwise there will be another round of surgery and hospitalization...
