keeping track of my friends in fb seemed to get me thinking... i see them checking in to airports after airports for work purposes... and most of the time, having the opportunity to travel out of the country... heck, what about me??? working in local companies, albeit slightly bigger in size, flying to lovely destinations for work may not be in the list at all...
having worked in hr, chances of traveling is slim compared to other job functions... surprisingly though, working where i am now allows me to travel quite a fair bit... mileage claims on a monthly basis is as good as a norm... having said that, i'm limited to travel to our branch offices... and being in the construction industry, i'm limited even further to travel only from one construction site to another... =.="""
self-declaring one of the mrt site in KL town as my second home was the previous flavor of the month... throughout the month of july, i'd been reporting to work from multiple mrt site offices... (weird though, being expected to be mobile... yet the company refuses to approve a laptop for me to work with)
anyway, it didnt just stop within klang valley... new learning opportunity cropped up... two one day trips to ipoh and penang were lined up for me... considered myself lucky, i didnt have to drive myself there on both counts... one traveled in style with a driver, and another as a co-driver... malaysians being malaysians, traveling to different places came with food hunt (even when it was for work purposes)...
a collective agreement meeting with the union representatives in ipoh went along with bean sprout chicken rice + salted chicken + the famous soy bean custard...
and the briefing in bm went with yam rice + rojak + a stopover at bidor...
then you'd wonder, did i really travel to complete my work... or did i just volunteer for the food hunt after work... wahahhahah... i wonder~~~
