it was only two months ago that we adopted our tiny starbucks from mddb (malaysian dogs deserve better)... she isnt really tiny anymore, been growing in weight and size steadily over her time spent with her new family... running around picking fights and playing with her elder sister, noodles... cuddling with me when she's sleepy... and all this while, unaware of her much shorten life and her health condition...
our lil miniature-alsation-look-alike starbucks was born without an anus... it was a month after we got her in, that we noticed her deformity... we had been wondering, why our lil gal has always whimpered when she defecates... and finally, we brought her to the vet... with the help of the friendly dr teoh, we finally identified that starbucks had and still is reliving herself from her vulva...
cutting the story short, we were given two choice... to put her through surgeries, that will result with more complications and further surgeries through her life... OR to let her stay happy and eventually put her to sleep when bladder and kidney infections kick in... sigh~ both are really heartbroken choices for us... we decided the latter... even vets advised us that... so now... we try to spend as much time as we can with her... we were given 2 years with her... if she's lucky, we'll have more...
spoken with mddb, they wondered how she was... and even missed her... last weekend, over at the pet fair 2011 in midvalley... we took her there to reunite with her foster families... instead of visiting for only short period of time... we ended up staying at mddb's booth to help them out with the adoption drive... and starbucks became the star of the show... she stole the limelight from the other doggies for adoption... =.="" visitors to the booth asked if starbucks can be adopted instead...
as a favor to mddb, we took back 2 more pups to help foster for the night... one huge pup, the size of noodles at two half months... and another tiny 7 weeks pup, the size of starbucks when we took her home in april... our two babies and the pups had a great time with each other the night before... such a cute scene watching them socialize and play with each other...
that was saturday... the following day, we got noodles to the fair too... decided that it's time noodles pay her dues to help others... lol~ and having four pups in the car isnt an easy task... starbucks doesnt like being in the crate... noodles had to be constantly distracted, to get her not to puke... the other two, well, i think they are trained to get into cars... they just sleep through the whole journey...
with so much attention going to both our babies... and so much request to adopt them from us... i think both the gals simply love the attention they are getting... we had a great time too... alex managed to get a couple pups adopted... noodles and i managed to get a few bucks for the donation box... starbucks had a time of her life, being used as squeaky toy from the evil aunty christine and peeing on our new found friend myers (the latter was fun though... hehe~)...
oh, and the highlight for the weekend... we got so much freebies... we had one FREE 3kg pack of nutram kibbles for the babies... then another FREE 1.5kg nutram kibbles... yes, again... not complaining, though... cos the gals love nutram a lot... and did i say, it's FREE??? we even had a family photo taken... yipee!!!
